anonymous discussion #3

i am reading proverbs right now and it talks often about wisdom -- what would you say wisdom is? today i read about how a "wise woman is a crown for her husband" (or something like that) and it just struck me... i WANT to be a wise woman. i WANT wisdom, proverbs talks often about the benefits of it and how "the fear of the Lord is the beginning" of wisdom ...

but what IS wisdom??

it is not about me said...

we say that God is love, because He is,
and that God is wise, because, well, He is.

just as love is an extension of the personality of God, so it is with wisdom. love is not God, and wisdom is not God...God is love, God is wisdom. the better we know Him, the more love we have...the better we know Him, the more wisdom we have.

and just as love is truly tested and grown in the hard times, so it is with wisdom. it doesn't come easy, but He gives to those who ask, and part of our pursuit of holiness in Him is to ask for wisdom. often this means the stripping of our pride, which hurts. but then the ultimate expression of His love hurt Him.

maybe this helped. maybe it didn't. but i hope it did.
